Summer Stars National Reading Adventure 2020!!

Date and time: 15 June 2020 @ 00:00 to 22 August 2020 @ 00:00

Summer Stars National Reading Adventure 2020

Summer Stars is the annual national reading programme for children taking place in all 330 public libraries and online throughout the country from the 15th of June until the end of August. It is a completely free programme open to all primary school children and is designed to encourage and nurture reading skills.

We at Cavan County Library will support the programme with several readings, workshops, and competitions to keep your child motivated and reading over the Summer.

Whilst we are offering a limited lending service at the moment, we are very hopeful that our library service will evolve over the Summer and that we will return to a full lending service, whilst maintaining the health and safety of all our members and staff!

Summer Star Reading Card

Children can track their reading progress throughout the summer with a Summer Star Reading Card

Record online or in print each time a book is read.  The reading card can be returned to your local library or emailed to library@cavancoco.ie

Summer Star - One Book, One Summer

This year we are delighted to introduce ‘One Book, One Summer’ with local author, Celine Kiernan, and the first book of her ‘The Wild Magic’ trilogy

‘Begone the Raggedy Witches’!

Chapters from this book will be read by library staff on our Face Book page at 10am every Friday during the months of July and August.

We also hope to host an interview session with the author. Copies of the book will be available to borrow at our branches throughout the Summer!
