Have you heard? The 2022 Cavan County Library’s ‘Summer Reads’ is in every library in Cavan! Switch off this Summer – we all deserve it, and what better way than to get lost in a book. Whether it is crime, thrillers, romance, real life stories, family sagas, as gaeilge scéalta, our Summer Reads compilation has something to satisfy everyone’s reading tastes. Download a copy of 'Summer Reads' then pop into your local library to browse the collection or grab a copy of the book that takes your fancy! Summer Stars Reading Adventure 2022

Summer Stars is the free national reading programme for children that takes place in all public libraries and online each summer. It runs from 13th June - 31st August 2022. All children throughout Co. Cavan are invited to join the fun - it's easy to register and receive a Summer Stars Reading Card to keep track of progress . Every child who takes part will be awarded a certificate so pop into your local library and start your child on their adventure today!

There is something for everyone - art, music, puppet show, storytime, lego workshops, clay modelling and more! All events are FREE of charge! Ireland's Public Library Strategy: public consultation

Is there something you’d love to see in libraries? Then have your say about the future of libraries Ireland! A new public library strategy for Ireland is being developed to meet a range of new challenges and emerging opportunities. The new strategy will help to shape our public library service for the next five years and we want to hear everybody’s views and ideas. A Century of Change Recordings - now available to library members

Cavan Library Service is delighted to offer free access to the Irish Life and Lore History Collection, '1922-2022: A Century of Change Part 1&2'. This oral history project marks the centenary of the formation of the Irish Free State (Saorstát Eireann). It records and catalogues the testimony of individuals who themselves, or their immediate families, have helped to create the vibrant Ireland in which we live and work today. Drop In - Your Library is Open!

Cavan Library Service are putting out a call to the public to drop in, relax, explore, connect, work or learn at their local library. Whether you used to visit regularly, or you’ve never been, we’re urging everyone to drop in to their local library and discover what’s on offer. “Your library is one of the few places you can spend time without spending a penny. So, please enjoy the space and services, take time out with a book or a newspaper; look into events and culture; meet friends and family; catch up on work or study, use the computers and Wi-fi. Drop in!
