Centenary Lecture Series - Autumn 2020

Cavan Library service is delighted to present it's Centenary Lecture Series which is currently showcased online every Thursday evening at 7.30pm for six weeks until 22nd October. Speakers include Dr Sinéad McCoole, Dr Brian Hughes, Fr. Ultan McGoohan, Dr Darragh Gannon, John Dorney and Dr Mary McAuliffe and are free to access on our website and on facebook.com/CavanLibrary. This lecture series forms part of Cavan County Council’s Decade of Centenaries 2020 programme and is supported by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht under the Decade of Centenaries 2012-2023 Initiative.

Cavan Library Service is OPEN for business!

We are delighted to announce that our libraries OPEN! You can browse, borrow, use computer facilities and print! With your Health and Safety of paramount importance there are some changes in each library but rest assured there will be a warm welcome as always when you arrive. Our opening hours have changed - check the details of your library. The capacity in libraries is reduced so you may have to queue for entry and your time in the library will be limited. To manage demand you time at our public PCs will also be limited and we advise that you ring ahead to book a slot. Children must be accompanied by an adult. We look forward to seeing all our members and friends in the coming days and weeks!

€4m for Virginia Civic Centre and Library

Cavan County Council has secured €3,963,525 in funding for the Virginia Library and Civic Centre project, under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund.
