Roll books in the collection record names of
pupils, their ages in years and months, religious
denomination, and attendance information.
Daily Report Book provide details on
attendance at the school class by class and day by
day. Notes discrepancies between numbers on roll and
numbers in actual attendance. Introductory page
contains details about school, for instance, relating to
management, date of opening, dimensions of rooms
etc. Information relating to grants given to the school
also provided, for example, for payment of salaries.
District Inspector's Observation Book. Contains reports
written by the Inspector on visiting the school and
assesses quality of instruction provided by the teacher
and progress of pupils.
In some cases, Corporal Punishment Books,
memorandums and invoices survive.
