Registration for Summer Stars opens in all libraries on Saturday 22nd June!

Summer Stars is the free national reading programme for children that takes place in all public libraries and online each summer from June - August.

All children throughout Co. Cavan are invited to join the fun - it's easy to register and receive a Summer Stars Reading Booklet to keep track of progress . The Summer Stars Reading Challenge is completely free and runs in tandem with our Summer Programme of Events which are also free of charge!

Children need to be members of the library to take part, so join your local library if your family does not have membership - joining is easy and free! 

Bring in your library card to any Cavan Library branch and pick up a Summer Stars Reading Booklet  –  check local opening hours. Visit your library regularly to stock up on your summer reads and use the Booklet to record each time a book is read, online or in print form.  Encourage your child to record any books, comics or magazines they read over the summer months and on visiting the library we will stamp all reading cards to keep the momentum going!  Every child who reads a book over the summer will receive a certificate AND there will be some goodies along the way too!

Summer Stars on BorrowBox

Browse, borrow, read and listen to the Summer Stars collection of children’s eBooks and eAudio books through the library’s BorrowBox app. Thousands of childrens ebooks and eAudiobooks available for download now! This is free for all members to use anywhere, anytime.
