Cavan Library Service is pleased to present our Sensory Toy Collection. This collection is designed to offer support to children with learning difficulties, disabilities, or other additional needs. Membership of our Toys, Technology and Training Service includes access to our Sensory Toy Collection.
The items in the Sensory Toy Collection have been selected by Cavan Library Service to support the development of a range of skills, and abilities, from fine and gross motor skills to life skills and communication skills. The collection is available to parents, families, teachers, and caregivers of people with additional needs within County Cavan.

Registration is required to borrow from our Toys, Technology and Training Collection is required. You can register at Virginia Library - just bring along proof of address i.e. Utility Bill, Bank Statement or Driving Licence.
Full terms and conditions must be signed prior to membership.
The Sensory Toy Collection is held at Virginia Library. Items can be borrowed/collected at Virginia Library only and items must be returned to Virginia Library
C-Pen Readers can be borrowed from Johnston Central Library, Virginia Library, Bailieborough Library, Cootehill Library and Belturbet Library.
This project was grant-aided by The Department of Rural and Community Development through the DAF (Dormant Accounts Fund) programme.
The collection was officially launched by Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, Cllr Phillip Brady on Wed 5th June 2024 with the help of pupils and teachers from the DEN class from St. Mary's N.S. Virginia. It was a wonderful morning of discovery for everyone!
