Reminiscence Cafe at Virginia - Friday 7th March

Do you fondly remember St. Patrick's Day of old? Maybe you have a yarn or two about the parades in the past or traditions on the 17th March. Then join us at Virginia Library for our Reminiscence Café on Friday 7th March from 11.00am-12.30pm. We'll view some reels and photos from archives of parades around the country and enjoy a cuppa together. We'll even share some shamrock! No need to book - just come along and bring a friend!

Is féile idirnáisiúnta Ghaeilge í Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia, atá ar an gceiliúradh is mó dár dteanga agus dár gcultúr dúchais a bhíonn ar siúl in Éirinn agus in go leor tíortha eile gach bliain. 'Meet My Ukraine' at Virginia Library

The multipurpose space at Virginia Library will host 'Meet My Ukraine', an exhibition and display by 'Women Without Borders' Ukrainian Women's Group on Friday 21st Feb and Saturday 22nd Feb from 11.00am-5.00pm. You are invited to come along to discover Ukrainian traditions, culture, crafts, music, cuisine and much more. Suitable for all the family - free of charge of course!

Archive of records from Belturbet's Agricultural Show

Belturbet's Agricultural Show was a community highlight in Belturbet every August for many decades. Recently, an archive of records was presented to the County Archives by two of the show's former organisers, Nuala Corrigan (treasurer) and Declan Fitzpatrick (secretary). This collection will be invaluable for researchers.
