Summer Stars Reading Adventure 2026

Registration for Summer Stars opens in all libraries from Monday 22nd June!

Children need to be library members to take part. Join your local library if your family does not have membership - joining is easy and free!
Bring in your library card to any Cavan Library branch and register for the Summer Stars programme - pick up you bag, activity booklet and reader card.
Visit your library regularly to stock up on your summer reads and use the reader card to record each time a book is read, online or in print form.
Parents and guardians - You can encourage your child to record any books, comics or magazines they read over the summer months and on visiting the library we will stamp all reading cards to keep the momentum going!
Every child who reads a book over the summer will receive a certificate AND will be entered into our Summer Stars Prize Draw!
